Welcome to the Pittsburg Historical Society. The Pittsburg Historical Museum, formerly the Pittsburg Post Dispatch building, is located in "Old Town Pittsburg, in the heart of the redeveloped downtown.

Our Schedule
Open to the public: (admission is free)
Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m.
Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Thursday Night Car Shows from 6pm to 8pm.
Private tours, school tours and "passport tours" for third graders are available and arranged by our curator Rosemarie DiMaggio.
The Board of Directors meets at the museum on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 10:30 am. General membership is welcome.
Memberships are vital to the financial strength of our organization. Visit our membership page and join us in helping to keep the history of Pittsburg alive.
The museum hosts a collection of artifacts, historical photos, a well organized library of papers, maps and reference books. Of special interest to our visitors are the Sports Hall of Fame Room, Family Room, Military Room, Bridal Room and Theater Room. We have a fully equipped kitchen which makes it ideal for small business meetings. We also have many items for sale including afghans, mugs, books, t-shirts, jackets and sweatshirts.
